Man shot, killed in Tripoli family feud

BEIRUT — A man shot and killed his relative Friday in the Abu Samra area of Tripoli using a military-grade weapon, L'Orient Today's correspondent in the North reported.

According to eyewitnesses who said they know the two people involved, a man fatally shot his relative in the head in front of a shop in the al-Shalfa neighborhood of Abu Samra, Tripoli.

Security forces arrived at the scene and launched an investigation.

In September, caretaker Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi announced a "sustainable" security plan for North Lebanon, following deadly shootings in Tripoli that raised fears of more violence. However, security incidents continue to occur in the city.
