BEIRUT — The Lebanese Army on Friday received 15 military vehicles, as part of a US donations program, the army said in a tweet.

"The military trucks arrived by ship at the Port of Beirut," the tweet said.

The Lebanese Army regularly receives financial aid from a range of countries, most notably the US, Qatar, Italy, France and Turkey.

The current average salary of a soldier amounts to less than $100 per month. Prior to the crisis, the average soldier's salary stood close to $800 per month.

Last year, US President Joe Biden authorized the donation of $67 million in military assistance for Lebanon’s armed forces to support members of the military as the country faces a debilitating economic crisis.
