BEIRUT — Syrian authorities on Monday handed over a Lebanese man suspected of murdering Lebanese former general Alaaeddine Chraiteh in October 2022, the Lebanese Army tweeted on Tuesday.
The suspected killer, whose initials were given as H. Kh, allegedly shot and killed Chraiteh "following a dispute over the ownership of a piece of land," the statement said. The suspect then reportedly fled to Syria.
The army said it had opened an investigation into the killing.
