BEIRUT — Beirut's Civil Defense saved a Lebanese man from drowning while he was swimming in the sea off Raouche, Saturday afternoon, the Civil Defense said in a statement Saturday. A second man is still missing as rescue operations continue.
The two men apparently struggled with the current and rising tide.
“Following the disappearance of the second young man, elements of the Lebanese Army's naval rescue unit and the naval forces continue to search for him, according to a comprehensive land and sea survey of that location,” the Civil Defense statement said. “Searches will continue until he is found.”
