BEIRUT — A second group of Lebanese evacuees from war-torn Sudan arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Thursday, the Lebanese Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
This is the last batch of Lebanese nationals evacuated from Sudan, according to the statement. The evacuees traveled to Saudi via boat.
"The ministry announces the ending of the evacuation operation," the statement added.
The head of Lebanon's High Relief Commission, Muhammad Khair, told L'Orient Today that the evacuees will arrive in Lebanon on Friday. They will be the third group of evacuees from Sudan to reach Lebanon. More evacuees arrived in the country on Wednesday.
