BEIRUT — Two people were killed in Tripoli's Ghuraba neighborhood Monday night after a hand grenade placed inside the seat of their motorcycle exploded, a security source told L’Orient Today’s correspondent in the north.
According to our correspondent, the blast burnt the motorcycle and propelled the two riders.
The Lebanese Red Cross transferred the men to Tripoli's governmental hospital, where they died of their injuries.
Weapons and armed incidents have proliferated across Lebanon in recent years amid economic collapse — Tripoli, Lebanon's second-largest city, has not been spared such incidents.
