The Lebanese Army found a rocket launcher in the Marjayoun area, in southern Lebanon, on Friday morning. The launcher, which is capable of launching multiple rockets, contained several unlaunched projectiles at the time it was found, the army said on Twitter.

In photographs shared by the Lebanese Army, it can be seen that the launcher still holds six rockets out of a possible total of 12.

The military added that it is working on dismantling the device.

On Thursday evening, several rockets were fired from the Marjayoun area in the direction of Israel, Lebanon's state-run National News Agency reported, following another barrage of rockets sent from the area of Qlaileh, near Sour, about 50 kilometers west of Marjayoun.

Most of the fired rockets were intercepted by the Israeli Iron Dome missile defense system.

The Israeli army said it was certain the responsibility for the rocket fire from Lebanon was "Palestinian" and pointed its finger at Hamas or Islamic Jihad. No organization has claimed responsibility for the launch. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he would make the enemies of Israel "pay a high price."

In retaliation, Israel struck several positions in southern Lebanon on Thursday night with artillery fire, which caused material damage. In retaliation, Israel struck several positions in southern Lebanon on Thursday night, causing material damage.
