BEIRUT — Bread prices in Lebanon changed again on Thursday, as the Lebanese Lira continues its depreciation against the dollar on the parallel market after it crossed a record LL100,000 margin earlier this week.

The Economy Ministry published new tariffs on Thursday, in which a pack of 825 grams now costs LL39,000. On Tuesday, 815 grams were priced at LL37,000. The large pack of bread, which weighs 1,033 grams, will now be sold at LL47,000, in comparison with Tuesday's price of LL45,000 for 1,032 grams.

Representatives of the sector had told the state-run National News Agency earlier this week that the time had come to switch to daily pricing of bread due to the almost constant fluctuations of the pound against the dollar. The Ministry of Economy and Trade, which sets the price of bread, has not yet announced an official decision in this regard.
