A fire broke out Monday afternoon on the top floors of a residential building in Rmeil at the northern edge of the Achrafieh district in Beirut.
The fire was under control shortly before 2 p.m. and no casualties have been reported, according to a Beirut firefighter interviewed at the scene by L'Orient-Le Jour's journalist.
The Civil Defense said on Twitter that it had evacuated a family trapped by the fire and that several flats had been affected by the blaze.
No information was yet available on the cause of the fire.
