BEIRUT — Three people — a woman, her child and a man — were found dead at a home in Daraya, in the Chouf region Friday morning, the state-run National News Agency and L'Orient Today's correspondent reported.

The man had been the child's father and was suffering from a "psychological crisis and depression," a Daraya municipality source told L'Orient Today on condition of anonymity. The man allegedly strangled his wife and four-year-old son, before throwing himself from the roof.

The source added that security forces were investigating the deaths.

The Internal Security Forces could not immediately be reached for comment by L'Orient Today.

Reporting contributed by Muntasser Abdallah.

Correction: A previous version of this article stated erroneously that Daraya, where the family's bodies were found, is located in South Lebanon governorate. It has been amended to reflect that Daraya is in the Chouf region of Mount Lebanon governorate.
