BEIRUT — Lebanese authorities arrested an alleged drug dealer operating in Sour, South Lebanon, and its surrounding towns after carrying out a raid at the suspect's house in Burj al-Shamali, east of Sour, the Internal Security Forces (ISF) said in a statement issued on Saturday.

According to the statement, during the operation, the authorities seized about “two kilograms of hashish packed inside cloth and nylon bags, 2,480 captagon pills professionally packed inside two sound amplifiers, an electronic scale, rolling paper for cigarettes, and three cell phones.”

The suspect admitted to drug trafficking and was transferred to the judiciary for trial, the statement added.

In early January, the Lebanese Army succeeded in dismantling a large drug trafficking network following a raid in the Burj al-Barajneh neighborhood in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
