BEIRUT — Internet and landline phone services in the Chweifat area in Mount Lebanon have been down for the past four days, the state-run National News Agency reported.

The cut came at the same time as the heavy winter storm that hit Lebanon earlier this week.

According to the NNA, residents have not received any explanation for the cut from state-owned telecommunication company Ogero, after several calls to solve the problem.

Telecommunication services in Lebanon have suffered since the onset of Lebanon's economic crisis in 2019. Telecommunication workers regularly go on strike for better wages, making it difficult for the company to promptly address outages.
