The prices of the different packages of Arabic bread increased in Lebanon, the Ministry of Economy announced on Wednesday.
According to a brief statement issued by the National News Agency, the small 358-gram package will be sold at LL 15,000 beginning Thursday.
The medium package of 837 grams will cost LL25,000. The large package, which will now weigh 1,054 grams (previously 1,052 grams) will be sold for LL30,000.
For several months, the Ministry has justified these price increases by citing rising fuel prices, depreciation of the lira on the parallel market, and rising global wheat prices since the beginning of the war in Ukraine.
