BEIRUT — Fuel prices in Lebanon decreased for the second time on Monday afternoon, after an initial decrease was announced by the Energy Ministry earlier that morning.

This latest price change comes as the Lebanese lira recovered to LL58,000 to the US dollar on Friday afternoon and remained the same as of Monday morning, after reaching a record low of LL63,000 against the dollar last week.

The high volatility of the Lebanese lira last week prompted the Energy Ministry to publish new fuel tariffs twice per day.

Here are the latest prices, with their variation with last Friday's tariffs:

• Twenty liters of 95-octane gasoline: LL1,048,000, down by LL44,000

• Twenty liters of 98-octane gasoline: LL1,073,000, down by LL45,000

• Twenty liters of diesel: LL1,095,000, down by LL44,000

• Gas cylinder: LL667,000, down by LL28,000.

•One kiloliter of fuel oil (used to supply private generators): unchanged at $905.59.
