BEIRUT — Fuel prices increased in Lebanon on Thursday, according to the latest tariffs announced by the Energy Ministry. This new price hike comes after the Lebanese lira hit a new record low on the parallel market, trading above LL57,000 against the dollar Wednesday evening.

Fuel Distributors Syndicate head Fadi Abou Chakra told local media Thursday that two schedules for fuel prices will be released, “one at nine in the morning and one at four in the afternoon, and the main reason is the change in the exchange rate of the dollar.”

Here are the new prices:

• Twenty liters of 95-octane gasoline: LL1,039,000, up by LL34,000

• Twenty liters of 98-octane gasoline: LL1,064,000, up by LL34,000

• Twenty liters of diesel: LL1,089,000, up by LL34,000

• Gas cylinder: LL664,000, up by LL21,000.

•One kiloliter of fuel oil (used to supply private generators) remains unchanged at $888.29
