BEIRUT — A woman in North Lebanon suspected of stabbing her husband multiple times with a knife has been arrested, along with her alleged accomplice, the Internal Security Forces said in a statement on Tuesday.

The police were looking for the two suspects after the husband — a Syrian national — was hospitalized in Tripoli. Both suspects fled after their alleged crime.

According to the police, the accomplice — whose initials are F.T. — was arrested in Khaldiyeh village in Zgharta, while the woman — whose initials are K.H. — was arrested in al-Makhada, in the same region, after hiding in the Beddaoui refugee camp in Tripoli.

An investigation has been launched, the ISF said.

Crimes in Lebanon have intensified as the country suffers from an unprecedented economic crisis since 2019.
