Suspected murderer of ISF chief warrant officer arrested in Chouf

BEIRUT — The Internal Security Forces announced on Saturday the arrest of a suspected murderer of one of the organization's chief warrant officers, who was found dead on the terrace of his home in Saadiyat, south of Beirut.

On Wednesday, Nov. 23, the 43-year-old warrant officer, identified by the initials A. I., was found dead and riddled with bullets in the torso and back, according to an ISF statement. After initial investigations, the identity of the alleged murderer was quickly ascertained: a 53-year-old neighbor of the victim, identified as R.Q. "The same day, an ISF patrol was able to arrest him," the ISF statement continues. An assault weapon used during the crime was seized: a Glock type pistol and 19 rounds of 9mm ammunition, ready for use.

During the investigation, the ISF said, the suspect admitted to the murder of his neighbor, which allegedly took place following an argument between the two men . The investigation is ongoing.
