BEIRUT — Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Joumblatt met on Monday with Iranian Ambassador Mojtaba Amani at his home in Beirut, the state-run National News Agency reported.
No information has yet been released about the content of their discussion. At the end of October, the head of the Maronite Church Bechara al-Rai also received Amani at the church's headquarters in Bkirki.
On Sunday, Joumblatt told the press after a meeting with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri that they had agreed not to name a candidate to "challenge" any party in the Lebanese presidential elections.
