Israeli forces fire flares over Lebanese border

BEIRUT — Inhabitants of the border area in South Lebanon said Israeli forces fired flares Sunday evening over the frontier between the two states from locations opposite the Lebanese village of Maroun al-Ras, L'Orient Today's correspondent in the south reported.

No injuries were reported. The Israeli army has so far not commented on the incident.

Border violations and security incidents by the Israeli army in South Lebanon are frequent.
