BEIRUT —Protesters blocked several roads in Saida and its suburbs Tuesday in protest against the continued water cuts in the area, according to L'Orient Today's correspondent in South Lebanon.
The protesters placed burning waste containers on the city's main roads, including Abra Street and the sea road. Burning waste was also placed in front of the city’s port, outside the local branch of Electricité du Liban, and in other neighborhoods.
The Lebanese state is bankrupt and struggling to keep its public institutions afloat, as exemplified by is continued water and electricity shortages.
