BEIRUT — A large Israeli military and civilian convoy was reported Sunday morning near the Lebanese border, according to the Lebanese state-run National News Agency.
Here's what we know:
• Composed of about 40 vehicles and 80 people, the convoy was observed near the settlement of Metulla, opposite the Lebanese town of Kfar Kila, in the district of Marjayoun. The purpose of the convoy has not been determined. The Israeli army has not made any announcement so far about this move to the border with Lebanon.
• This development comes against a backdrop of increased tension between Lebanon and Israel, as the countries negotiate the course of their maritime border.
