BEIRUT — An individual on Tuesday infiltrated the municipality of Arsal in the Bekaa with a pistol, where he shot at the head of the municipality several times, although he did not hit him, L’Orient Today’s correspondent in the area reported.
Here’s what we know:
• According to L’Orient Today’s correspondent, the municipality is believed to have not extended the contract of the shooter who works in sewage networks, which led to the incident.
• Earlier today, the Lebanese Army came under fire in the Saraaine area of Baalbeck-Hermel, after intervening to control an armed clash between two men.
• Violent incidents have become more common as Lebanon suffers from an unprecedented economic crisis and an absence of proper security measures.
