BEIRUT — The Lebanese Red Cross announced Saturday morning that its direct line hotline, 140, in Beirut and Mount Lebanon has suffered a breakdown due to a failure on the part of the telecom operator Ogero. The Red Cross has made available two numbers for us in the event of an emergency until the hotline is restored.

"A breakdown affects line 140 in Beirut and Mount Lebanon due to the shutdown of the Ogero central. For emergencies, please contact 81/715074 and 71/140122", the Red Cross  wrote on its Twitter account, specifying that these numbers are temporary.

Ogero has experienced increasingly frequent breakdowns in recent years, due to the serious economic crisis affecting Lebanon since 2019, which has resulted in fuel shortages, an increase in equipment theft and power cuts.
