The tragic sinking of a boat at sea off the coast of Qalamoun in the North seems to have faded from memory, although it etched itself in everyone’s minds at the time. The wave of protests that took place in Tripoli after the tragedy was followed by the apathy that characterizes so much of the Lebanese public consciousness since the economic crisis worsened significantly. The silence of those who have given up? Although they did not plan any demonstrations to mark the three months since the disaster occurred, the blood of the victims’ families is still boiling.
