BEIRUT — Unknown persons threw grenades overnight Sunday towards a house in the locality of Bebnine in Akkar (North Lebanon), causing material damage.
Here’s what we know:
• The house was empty, its occupants having fled the scene after the security incidents which shook this locality in the North at the end of last week, reports our correspondent.
• Last Thursday, a person was killed after exchanges of fire with automatic weapons in the same area following an argument. The victim had been hit by a stray bullet. In this regard, residents of the village of Fnaydek confirmed on Sunday evening that all those involved in these clashes would be handed over to the authorities.
• The security situation in Lebanon has worsened during the country’s unprecedented economic crisis.
