BEIRUT — Lebanese actor Pierre Chamoun, known for his numerous roles in theater, cinema and on the small screen, died Saturday morning after feeling faint and complaining of chest pains, Lebanon’s Arabic daily Annahar reported.
Here’s what we know:
• In a post on its Facebook account, the Lebanese Actors' Union paid tribute to Pierre Chamoun and offered condolences to his relatives.
• Born in 1959, the performer acted in many Lebanese TV series throughout his career, as well as in several films, including “Cash Flow,” 2012, and “Kizbeh Bayda,” 2018.
• Shortly after the announcement of Chamoun's death, many tributes were paid to him on social media. Responding on Twitter, playwright and director Ziad Itani praised the actor’s sense of humor and spontaneity. Actress Carmen Lebbos paid tribute to the "beautiful smile and pleasant spirit of a friend to all."
