BEIRUT — Journalist and writer Lina Mounzer’s cell phone remains in the custody of the Internal Security Forces’ Intelligence Unit in accordance with a judge’s orders, following a scheduled interrogation of the journalist Wednesday morning, Mounzer's lawyer has told L’Orient Today, adding that the questioning pertained to a "minor security concern."

Here’s what we know:

    • Mounzer had been summoned the previous day to appear before the Intelligence Unit at 11 a.m. at its headquarters in Adlieh, Beirut.

    • After receiving the summons, Mounzer tweeted “I’ve been called to come in for questioning at the intelligence branch of the Internal Security Forces at 11 a.m. tomorrow morning. They wouldn’t tell me what I have been accused of. Please spread the word, I could really use the support.”

    • Following Mounzer’s questioning Wednesday, her lawyer told L’Orient Today that she had been “called in for interrogation over a minor security concern that was cleared up and turned out [to be] irrelevant.”

    • The lawyer added that he expects Mounzer’s “phone will be given to her after a few hours” or “tomorrow.”
