BEIRUT — President Michel Aoun returned to the presidential palace Wednesday after spending the night in the hospital to conduct medical examinations.
Here’s what we know:
• Yesterday morning, the Information Office of the Presidency of the Republic said Aoun “conducted examinations and X-rays at Hotel Dieu Hospital, and will leave the hospital within the next few hours as soon as the examinations are completed.”
• Aoun was released today, after seemingly spending the night. According to his press office, “President Aoun left “Hotel Dieu” hospital [Wednesday] morning and returned to the Presidential Palace after completing medical examinations and radiographs.”
• The 88-year-old Aoun was elected president in 2016 and his mandate is set to end in October 2022.
