BEIRUT — At least two altercations between voters took place on Sunday in two French overseas voting centers for the Lebanese parliamentary elections, videos circulating on social media showed.

Here’s what we know:

    • Lebanon’s ambassador to France Rami Adwan, quoted by online media outlet el-Nashra, said that the police intervened in one of the centers to separate the feuding parties. Initial reports claim the altercation pitted supporters of rival political parties against each other, the Lebanese Forces and the Free Patriotic Movement.

    • A video shared on social media shows a quarrel between an FPM supporter and another voter, who tells the first “you’ve led the country to ruin,” prompting applause from others in the background.

    • Some 194,348 expatriates are eligible to vote in Sunday’s overseas ballot for the Lebanese parliamentary elections. Friday, the first day of expatriate voting, registered a voter turnout rate of 59 percent.
