BEIRUT — The Lebanese Civil Defense announced on Tuesday that it recovered the remains of a Syrian man and his daughter who had been missing since the day before after falling into the Daraya River, near Zgharta, in northern Lebanon.
Here's what we know:
• According to our correspondent in the North, the seven-year-old girl had fallen into the stream and her father, while was trying to help her, was also swept away by the current.
• The Civil Defense had been mobilized since Monday to find them. A video posted by the organization on Twitter shows the powerful current of the river, in the middle of the ice-melting season.
