BEIRUT — An independent list of candidates for the May 15 parliamentary elections, “We are the Change,” was registered in South I Saida-Jezzine district, L’Orient Today’s correspondent in the area reported.
Here’s what we know:
• The list comprises five candidates: brigadier Joseph el Asmar and attorney Sleiman Malek for the Maronite seats, doctor Robert el Khoury for the Catholic seat and engineer Hania el Zaatari and Mohamad al Zarif for the Sunni seats.
• The candidates will be competing with the earlier announced “We Vote for Change” list in the same district which includes sitting MP Oussama Saad and the head of the national committee on COVID-19 vaccines, Abdul Rahman Bizri.
• The deadline to register lists at the Interior Ministry is April 4.
