Two injured in oil tank fire in North Lebanon

BEIRUT — Two people were injured after an oil tank caught fire on Wednesday in Jabal Beddaoui area of North Lebanon, our correspondent in the region reported.

Here’s what we know:

    • One of the people injured suffered severe burns. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene to contain the flames which threatened to reach neighboring houses.

    • On Aug. 15, a deadly explosion of an illegal gasoline depot in Tleil village in Akkar killed more than 30 people and left around 100 others injured. Three suspects were arrested as part of the investigation: the owner of the premises, the owner of the gas tank and the person who allegedly set fire to it.
