BEIRUT — The village of Tfail in Baalbeck, bordering Syria, has been isolated for 15 days because of heavy snowfall that blocked roads leading into it, our correspondent in the area reported.
Here’s what we know:
• Tfail’s inhabitants called on authorities to unblock the road and said that their supplies, namely bread, medicine and fuel, have been exhausted.
• Tens of goats and sheep have perished from starvation according to the village’s inhabitants.
• Lebanon has been facing a wave of cold weather, unusual for March, for the past several days which has caused snowfall at low altitudes.
