BEIRUT —A family of five was rescued on Saturday morning by a snow removal team near the town of Kaitaa, in Akkar, reports our correspondent in the region Michel Hallak.
Here's what we know:
• Trapped by snow in their car on the road, the five people, including women and children, were evacuated without complications. The work of the snow removal teams continues to transport the car to the village of Fneideq.
• Strong winds and heavy snowfalls have been reported in Lebanese localities located at altitude since Friday. On the coast, high winds had prevented all activities in the port of Tripoli on Friday.
