BEIRUT – Strong winds caused material damages in Tripoli, L’Orient Today’s correspondent in the area reported.
Here’s what we know:
• A utility pole located on the street leading to the Nimi Hospital roundabout fell and damaged numerous store signs and shattered glass storefronts.
• Weather.com estimated a wind speed of 47 kilometers per hour in the city.
• Already in March, hail has fallen on the city while remarkable drops in temperature were recorded.
• L’Orient Today’s correspondent in Akkar also reported damage caused by the wind. Two utility poles were knocked down on the main road connecting Machta Hammoud and Kharab al-Hayat. The toppled poles momentarily blocked the road and caused power outages.
• In the Kfarmelki area in Akkar, a tree was struck down by the wind.
