BEIRUT – President Michel Aoun, during a meeting with the UK Defence Ministry's Senior Middle East Advisor Marshal Martin Sampson, said that “war is not a successful way to solve conflict,” in reference to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the presidency’s Twitter account reported.

• According to the Twitter account, Aoun also said that he “hopes that Russia and Ukraine would go back to the language of discussions and negotiations so that peace and stability would be restored fast.”
