Gemayel announces Kataeb candidate for Bekaa-Rashaya

BEIRUT – The head of Kataeb, Samy Gemayel, announced Wednesday the candidacy of Guitta Aajil for the Maronite seat in the Bekaa-Rashaya electoral district in the upcoming parliamentary elections, scheduled for May 15.

Here’s what we know:

    • “We will fight the battle with those who love Lebanon, those who believe in change and in the sovereignty of Lebanon,” Gemayel said in a press conference.

    • On her turn to speak, the announced candidate said, "Lebanon needs us, and just as we have not compromised any rights or sovereignty of Lebanon, we can be the main pillar of the change required, and we want to restore the rights of the Lebanese and not miss the chances of change.”

    • Gemayel launched his party's electoral campaign for the parliamentary elections on Sunday as he said that the candidates running under Kataeb represent "part of the change" to which the Lebanese aspire.
