BEIRUT — US Assistant Secretary of State for Diplomatic Security, Gentry Smith, on Saturday toured an Internal Security Forces facility as part of his trip to Beirut.
Here’s what we know:
• In a tweet, the ISF posted a video of Smith’s visit to the Wissam al-Hassan barracks in Dbayeh, north of Beirut, where he attended a conference and inspected equipment.
• The ISF has come under criticism from Human Rights Watch for “multiple failures, gross negligence, and procedural violations in four politically sensitive murder investigations in the past two years.”
