Unknown assailants killed beehives in Chouf

BEIRUT — Beehives have been poisoned by unknown attackers in the Chouf, according to Lebanon’s state news agency, which described the incidents as an “environmental massacre.”

Here’s what we know:

    • Over 200 beehives were sprayed with pesticides in the Chouf village of Srijbal, the NNA reported.

    • Security forces deployed to the scene of the crimes to conduct an investigation, the NNA said, adding that the perpetrators remain unknown.
