BEIRUT— The Israeli army said Friday that it had arrested two people who tried to cross into Israel from Lebanon.
Here’s what we know:
• “In the last hours, two suspects were arrested on the border road between Israel and Lebanon near the villages of Chtoula and Chomra,” Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee wrote in a tweet.
• “After investigation, it turned out that these two individuals are looking for a job,” he added, noting that “the details of the incident are still under review.” Adraee also stressed that “sweeping operations are underway in the region.”
• Last July, the Israeli army arrested two men suspected of entering Israeli territory.
