National Liberal Party announces Camille Dory Chamoun's candidacy in Baabda constituency

BEIRUT — The National Liberal Party announced Sunday the candidacy of its secretary-general Camille Dory Chamoun in the legislative elections scheduled for May 15. Chamoun will run for one of three Maronite seats in the Baabda constituency.

Here's what we know: 

    • In a brief statement, the National Liberal Party announced Chamoun's candidacy as well as an alliance with the Lebanese Forces, led by Samir Geagea, in this constituency "and others." The statement did not specify which other constituencies. "The names of the other candidates in the various constituencies will be announced later," the statement added.

    • In the electoral district of Baabda, there are six seats in total to fill: three Maronite, two Shiite and one Druze.
