BEIRUT – A man was injured in the leg by an exploding mine in Akkar on the border of Syria, reports the National News Agency.
Here’s what we know:
• The incident took place in Wadi Khaled. The victim was admitted to Notre Dame De La Paix Hospital in Qobeiyat, where his leg was amputated.
• Mines are still scattered throughout the northern and southern areas of Lebanon. The Lebanese Army and the United Nations continue to work to dispose of the remaining explosive devices.
