BEIRUT – Telecommunications Minister Johnny Corm told Voice of Lebanon radio (93.3) that “enough diesel” has been secured to keep Ogero operating until June.

Here’s what we know:

    • Last weekend, Ogero suffered from service outages across Beirut and elsewhere in Lebanon. The outages occurred as a result of an administrative delay in the payment of funds allocated by Parliament.

    • During his interview, the minister also pointed out that until now he has “not sent the ministry's budget figures, but intensive meetings are being held this week to finalize the issue of tariffs, and this requires a great effort because we take into account people with low incomes.” He said he expects to “submit the ministry's budget early next week.”

    • On the prices of prepaid cards for cell phones, Corm said he aims “not to change the pricing of these cards, but reduce the duration of the data while maintaining shelf life. The current plan is to keep the number of minutes intact in parallel with reducing the data, and this is suitable for low-income people.”
