Land transport unions head Bassam Tleis announced a new three-day general strike starting Feb. 2 in a press conference Monday, calling on the president and prime minister to make the transportation sector’s issues the “first item [in the agenda] of the cabinet’s session.”

• Land transport unions head said that 98 percent of the unions’ drivers had committed to the “day of anger” strike.
• Tleis has previously accused the government of not keeping its promises to support the road transport sector.
