South Lebanon Water Establishment waives late fees for customers who did not pay their bills in 2021

BEIRUT— The South Lebanon Water Establishment announced in a statement that subscribers who did not pay their water subscription fees for the year 2021 and previous years will be exempted from 90 percent of late fees they have accrued.

Here’s what we know:

    • Subscribers are supposed to pay fines for each month they do not pay their bills, but according to the statement, individuals will be exempted from the fines if they settle their outstanding bills before December 31, 2022.

    • Electricity and fuel shortages put water pumps out of action last June. The South Lebanon Water Establishment was only able to provide 50 to 60 percent of the water they usually gave.
