BEIRUT— The ISF announced Friday that it foiled a criminal operation in eastern Lebanon in which two men were allegedly forging negative COVID-19 PCR test results.

Here’s what we know:

    • In a statement, the ISF said that its detachment in Zahle, eastern Lebanon, on Thursday raided an exchange shop in Masnaa, near the border with Syria, and arrested two men for allegedly forging negative PCR results.

    • The ISF added that the detainees “confessed to forging more than 100 documents, including tests and COVID-19 vaccination certificates” and said they were selling them for “100,000LL per document.”

    • The ISF also said that the two suspects were forging fake hotel reservations for visitors arriving in Lebanon from Syria.
