BEIRUT — France handed over half a million Pfizer vaccines to Lebanon on Thursday, the country's ambassador Anne Grillo announced on Twitter.
Here’s what we know:
• The donation came a day after Health Minister Firass Abiad announced new measures aimed at tackling the rising numbers of new COVID-19 cases in Lebanon and the spread of the new Omicron variant globally.
• On Monday, Lebanon received a donation of 300,000 Sinopram vaccines, 100 hospital beds and 100 ventilators from China.
