BEIRUT — Serbia’s ambassador to Lebanon confirmed Thursday that Serbia will send 40,000 Sputnik COVID-19 vaccines and 45,000 tons of foodstuff in aid to the Lebanese Army, a Lebanese Foreign Ministry spokesperson told L’Orient Today.
Here is what we know:
• Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib met Serbia's ambassador to Lebanon Amir Elvik on Thursday.
• The Serbian ambassador confirmed that Serbia will send aid to the Lebanese Army between Dec. 17 and 18, the ministry spokesperson said.
• The officials also discussed bilateral relations and the possibility of signing cultural and touristic agreements between Lebanon and Serbia.
• Bou Habib updated Elvik on his visit to Belgrade last month on the sidelines of the Summit of Non-Aligned Countries. The Non-Aligned Movement comprises 120 developing world states that are not formally aligned with any major power.
