BEIRUT — Health Minister Rakan Nassereddine launched a platform on Tuesday, during a press conference at his office in Beirut, containing constantly updated data on the ongoing war between Hezbollah and Israel. He specified that the platform can be accessed via the Ministry's website.
Providing some figures, the minister mentioned 163 direct attacks on medical and paramedical personnel, resulting in 108 deaths, 108 damaged ambulances, 16 destroyed or partially destroyed hospitals, and 4 others forcibly closed. Regarding the emergency services, they handled 43,973 emergency calls, 5,946 rescues, and 3,246 firefighting operations.
Nassereddine stated that since the "ineffective" cease-fire, there have been 380 deaths and 1,122 injuries, bringing the total toll to 2,882 dead and 8,768 wounded since March 2nd.
Regarding displaced persons, he reiterated that their medical care is fully covered by the Ministry. He added that 197 first aid centers have been made available to 643 displacement reception centers, while 211 mobile clinics serve 577 reception centers.
The minister reminded the public of the emergency hotlines through which the Ministry can be contacted: 1787 for hospitalizations, 1214 for medications, and 1507 for mental health. According to him, 12,891 requests for hospitalization have already been received, 15,602 for medication, 400,383 for sedatives and 21,000 for psychological consultations.
