Iran begins cutting oil production to cope with US blockade
As the U.S. naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz tightens its grip on Iranian oil trade, Tehran has already begun proactively reducing production to limit the impact of falling exports and storage constraints, a senior Iranian official told Bloomberg.
“We have enough expertise and experience,” said Hamid Hosseini, spokesperson for the Iranian Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Products Exporters Association. “We are not worried.”
These methods, developed over years of wars and sanctions, were refined under the first Trump administration, when the United States withdrew from the 2018 nuclear deal and imposed sanctions that forced Tehran to scale back production. Over the longer term, however, these restrictions did not prevent Iran from ramping up output in subsequent years.
Iranian oil production remains close to recent highs, Bloomberg noted, while highlighting a key difference: the blockade now prevents Tehran from discreetly selling its oil to Beijing.

Israel says it destroyed 50 Hezbollah infrastructures yesterday
The Israeli army claimed on X that it carried out airstrikes on “targets in southern Lebanon” and “eliminated fighters operating near its forces,” sharing images and videos whose authenticity we are unable to verify.

Iran’s armed forces believe a resumption of the war with the United States and Israel is “likely,” after nearly a month of truce, because “the facts show that the United States respects no agreement or treaty.”
“The actions and statements of American officials are mainly dictated by the media and aim first to prevent a drop in oil prices and then to get themselves out of the mess they created,” Mohammad Jafar Asadi, deputy commander at the Iranian army headquarters, said in a statement carried by Iran’s Fars news agency.
“The armed forces are fully prepared for any new adventure or foolishness by the Americans,” he added.
